![]() Jim Bennett Camping Coordinator The Camping Coordinator ensures that the troop has a quality outdoor camping program during the scouting year. He works with the youth leaders of the troop to direct and get suggestions for where the troop wants to go camping, and what type of trips are desired by the youth, and then plans and makes the reservations, works with the youth leaders with a menu and itinerary for the trip and handles the administrative paperwork to make the trip a success. |
![]() Joe Cady Troop Committee Vice Chairman & Scout Account Accountant The Troop Committee Vice Chairman takes the role of Troop Committee Chairman when the Chairman is unavailable to attend a meeting. The Scout Account Accountant manages the scout accounts by allocating the funds the scouts earned from the fundraisers, and also deducts out when scouts use their funds for trips. |

![]() Barry Evans Newsletter Editor The Newsletter Editor is responsible for the monthly production and distribution of the troop newsletter. The newsletter is a key element of how the Troop communicates with its Scouts, Adult Leaders, Parents and Alumni. The newsletter is sent out to over 200 recipients each month, and is also archived on the website under the newsletter section. Article submissions from the scouts are always welcome, and also count towards one of the requirements for the scout to earn their Troop neckerchief with the patch. ![]() Dave Shertz Troop Registrar The Troop Registrar makes sure that all of the BSA applications for the new scouts that join the troop are submitted and registered at Council. Once a year the troop needs to re-charter and the registrar is key in that role to ensure that everyone has paid their troop dues, and has current information on the re-charter that is submitted to Council. |

Training Coordinator Assists in coordinating the Troop level trainings for new leaders, as well as making leaders and scouts aware of upcoming training opportunities, and keeping the Troop training database updated, and providing reports of who has what trainings completed to the Scoutmaster and Troop Committee Chairman. Stephanie Robinson Poinsettia Sale Coordinator The Poinsettia Sale is one of the three annual troop fundraisers. The Coordinator works with the selected grower to arrange price, quantities, and delivery dates. They publish the sale information, and process the orders for the two delivery dates, and facilitate the pickup of the plants during the two pick-up dates. |

Miles Stevens Troop Bus Manager Miles is responsible for keeping the Troop bus reliable. He makes sure the bus gets inspected, and also performs preventative maintenance on the bus as needed. Without the bus the troop would not be able to do the high adventure trips that the troop does such as going to Canada or Florida. The bus also is integral on weekend trips because we do not need parents with vans to drive scouts to those destinations. |

This page lists and gives a brief description of the members that help support Troop 78. These positions are filled by members that are either registered as Assistant Scout Masters, or are on the Troop Committee.
The troop committee is the troop's board of directors and supports the troop program. The assistant scout masters have a more direct contact role with the scouts and assist the Scoutmater in delivering the troop program.
