Awards Landing Page
Advancement and recognition in the Boy Scouts of America is a tradition dating from the inception of the Scouting movement. A fundamental purpose of advancement is the self-confidence a young man or woman acquires from his participation in Scouting. Advancement is one of the methods used in the "Aims of Scouting"– character development, citizenship training and personal fitness. These awards in our troop are given out to who we believe deserves it. Some awards are given out by the votes of our scouts. Other awards are achieved through activities such as the field day award. Awards are achieved by reaching a certain goal. Some awards are given out by the council. The council votes on who should get a certain award and many of our scouts and scouters have received awards from the council.
