Willistown Troop 78

Willistown Troop 78 is one of the Boy Scout Troops of the Diamond Rock District which is part of the Chester County Council. The troop is 81 years old and was first charted in 1930. Our sponsor is the Upper Main Line VFW Post 5203 of Paoli and Friends of Troop 78 INC.

Troop 78 is a Scout run troop. Which is also demonstrated by this website which was created by a scout and maintained by a current scout. The Scouts plan and execute their own program. With the help of several Scouters and parent participation the Scouts are well supported. Presently there are over 70 active Scouts. The Troop is divided into seven patrols of 10 to 11 Scouts. Every month there is an overnight outing planned and two long term outings a year. This rigorous outing program provides the Scouts with a opportunity for fun, new skills and advancement.

WINTER KLONDIKE OLYMPIAD -

For the weekend of February 3 – 5, Willistown Troop 78 and West Point
Troop 23 are teaming up for one of the best events of the entire Scouting
year: the Matje Farm 2012 Winter Klondike Olympiad. This one-of-akind
trip combines the best of the Klondike Derby and Winter Olympics.
The two troops will be camping at Mr. Matje’s farm in upstate Pennsylvania
and will combine forces to create new patrols made up of members from
each troop.

If you have pictures that you wish to share with everyone and have them posted on the website, please bring a cd or flash drive to a troop meeting, and give to Mr. D'Antonio, please indicate the year and trip that the pictures are from.

Dancers Wanted

Uniform Exchange

Just a reminder to check the uniform exchange for shorts if yours do not fit this season. Contact Jeanne Eberhart to see if she has any “experienced” uniform shirts or pants in your size. Remember to donate what you’ve outgrown by bringing it to the cabin to send home with Noah Eberhart. We also will be sticking with the long knee socks, not the new crew cut. Mr. D'Antonio has many pairs availible if you need them.
